Council for Interior Design Accreditation Board elects officers, appoints new directors

Vincent G. Carter, Senior Architect at Mission Workspace of the Future, Department of Homeland Security, Washington, DC is currently serving a one-year term as the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) Board Chair effective January 1, 2022. Carter represents CIDA’s Accreditation Commission on the Board. Felice Silverman, FIIDA, Principal at Silverman Trykowski Associates, Boston, and Board liaison to the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) was elected as CIDA’s Chair-elect. CIDA Director Rachelle Schoessler Lynn, FASID, CID, LEED Fellow, Minneapolis, and Board liaison to the American Society of Interior Design (ASID), serves as Secretary-Treasurer.  

Two new appointments were made to the nine-member CIDA Board of Directors. Amanda Gale, Ph.D., NCIDQ, WELL AP, LEED AP (BD+C) was appointed as Accredited Program Representative. Gale is an Associate Professor, Graduate Program Director and Internship Coordinator in Interior Architecture at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Alana Pulay, Ph.D., NCIDQ WELL and LEED AP, was appointed as liaison to the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) on the CIDA Board. The Council for Interior Design Accreditation is an independent, non-profit, accrediting organization responsible for setting standards and evaluating degree-granting interior design programs. There are 175 CIDA-accredited programs in the U.S., Canada, Qatar, and the UAE.
