Registration is Now Open for CIDA's Virtual Accreditation Workshop Sessions

CIDA is offering five virtual sessions focused on different aspects of the accreditation process. Participants can register for individual sessions or all five sessions for a discounted rate. To register, please visit the CIDA website here.

The following sessions will be offered:

1.    CIDA’s Accreditation Process and Important Policies, Wednesday, February 22 from 10:30 am-12:00 pm ET, Cost $100 per person

CIDA staff will review the accreditation process (both virtual and campus based) as well as important policies and answer participant questions. 

2. Program Self-study, Monday, February 27 from 10:00am - 12:30 pm ET, Cost $125 per person

Sarah Wilhoit, Ph.D., IDEC, ASID, Director of Interior Architecture and Design at Harding University, will describe the methods her program used for self-study and preparing a Program Analysis Report for a recent accreditation review. Kristi Julian, Ph.D., LEED AP BD+C, EDAC, WELL AP, Professor and Interior Design Program Director at Middle Tennessee State University, will discuss her program’s approach to self-study and preparing for a recent accreditation review. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters. 

3. Organizing a Student Work Display, Wednesday, March 1 from 3:00-5:30 pm ET, Cost $125 per person 

Michelle Pearson, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Program Director of Interior Design at Texas Tech University, will describe her program’s recent experience organizing a student work display. Kristen Arnold, M.Ed., BScID, IDEC, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator at Weber State University, will discuss the student work display her program organized for a recent campus-based accreditation review. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters. 

4. Organizing a Virtual Student Work Display, Thursday, March 2 from 10:00-11:45 am ET, Cost $100 per person

Kristin Lee, Chair and Associate Professor of Interior Design at American University of Dubai, will describe her program’s recent experience organizing a fully virtual student work display. This presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with experienced CIDA site visitors Anita Barnett, FIIDA, and Tommy Crane, IDEC, ASID, LEED AP ID+C, focused on virtual student work displays.

5. CIDA’s Professional Standards 2022, Monday, March 6 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET, Cost $125 per person

CIDA Standards Committee members Lisa Waxman, Ph.D. and Professor Emerita at Florida State University and Migette Kaup, Ph.D., IDEC, IIDA, ASID, EDAC, Professor at Kansas State University, will join CIDA staff for a discussion about Professional Standards 2022 and answer participant questions.
