CIDA calls for community comment on DRAFT Professional Standards 2024

The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) invites the community to comment on draft Professional Standards 2024 from September 18 through October 18, 2023. These refinements to current accreditation standards reflect CIDA’s future forecasting and address user recommendations. Overall, proposed revisions streamline existing content, improve continuity of interpretation, and incrementally elevate expectations for significant practice-related content. Professional Standards 2024 are slated for publication in January 2024 with an effective date of July 1, 2024 (for program accreditation reviews taking place in fall 2024.)

CIDA’s accreditation standards represent a common investment in quality higher education for professional interior designers. The community’s participation in periodic standards review and comment is a powerful way individual practitioners, educators, and other stakeholders have a voice in their shared future. We absolutely welcome and encourage your input,” states Chief Executive Officer Holly Mattson, Hon. FASID, Hon. IDC.
