New institutional and program eligibility requirement effective immediately.

Programs must submit evidence of compliance no later than August 1, 2014.

In order to meet recognition criteria for the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), CIDA is required to demonstrate that all programs publish information about student achievement. CHEA’s expectations are specific to aggregate data about all students, including attrition and retention, graduation rates, job placement rates, and acceptance into graduate programs. As such, the CIDA Accreditation Commission developed a new eligibility requirement for CIDA applicant, candidate, and accredited programs. At its April 2013 meeting, the CIDA’s Board of Directors voted to adopt the following program eligibility requirement, effective immediately:

A program seeking accreditation must demonstrate that:

  • It collects and publishes reliable information to the public regarding student achievement, including aggregate data addressing attrition and retention, graduation rates, job placement rates, and acceptance into graduate programs.

Updated policy and procedure documents are available for download on CIDA’s website at https://accredit-id.org/faculty-programs/policy-procedures/. In order to be eligible to seek or maintain CIDA accreditation or candidacy status, programs must demonstrate compliance with CIDA’s institutional and program eligibility requirements, which can be found in Section II. Professional Standards, pages 3-4, and Section IV. Applying for Accreditation, page 2.
