The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) Board of Directors recently appointed Dr. Pamela Evans, FIDEC, IIDA, LEED AP, to serve as a Director, representing accredited programs. Dr. Evans is the Associate Dean of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University, Kent, OH. She is a Fellow of the Interior Design Educator’s Council and has also served on the IDEC Board, including one term as President.
A vacancy on the CIDA Board was created by the resignation of Vini Nathan, Ph.D., IDEC. Vini recently accepted a new academic position that conflicted with CIDA Board service. Robert Wright, FASID, CIDA Board Chair states, “CIDA is extremely fortunate to have two such high caliber individuals interested in serving on the Board. While we regret that Vini is not able to serve the remainder of her term, we believe Pamela Evans is an exceptional addition and has the full confidence of the academic community in representing accredited programs.”
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation is an independent, non-profit, accrediting organization responsible for setting standards and evaluating degree granting interior design programs. There are 171 CIDA-accredited programs in the U.S., Canada, and Qatar. For more information, visit the web site accredit-id.org.
