CIDA Announces Awards Honoring Former Director Keith Hooks
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) is excited to announce two new awards, both honoring Keith Hooks founder of Hooks Design+Architecture in San Francisco (now A S D) who was a CIDA volunteer leader for over 20 years. Keith Hooks passed away in early 2008 after a long struggle with cancer.
In partnership with Keith’s colleagues and friends in the San Francisco community, CIDA has established a scholarship fund that will honor Keith’s commitment to quality interior design education. “We are delighted to have found such a fitting tribute to Keith. This scholarship will reward promising students who demonstrate the values that Keith Hooks embraced – hard work, integrity, and excellence – and what better partner than CIDA,” states Leina Zimmerman of Skyline Construction in San Francisco.
CIDA is also establishing the Keith Hooks Award of Excellence, which will be bestowed annually to an outstanding CIDA volunteer. “Keith Hooks’ impact on interior design education throughout his twenty plus years of service is immeasurable. His legacy deserves the highest honor and CIDA is proud to celebrate other outstanding volunteers in his memory,” states Holly Mattson, Executive Director.
